October 10 -- 10:00am -- Second Saturdays Artwalk/Las Vegas,NM -- The New Mexico Arts and Cultural District is promoting this popular event. Second Saturdays Artwalk is an authentic grass roots community event taking place every Second Saturday in the three historic commercial districts of Las Vegas ( from the Plaza Park to the Depot). Various events begin at 10:am and end at 9:00pm throughout the districts and in artist studios through town. For more information call (505)425-2606 or visit their website at: www.mainstreetlvnm.org October 17 -- 9:00am til Noon -- Annual Crop Walk -- The Annual Crop Walk will be held on the campus of the United World College. Crop Walk is a fund raising effort of Church World Service, an international organization started in 1947, to relieve hunger around the world. Individuals, organizations, churches, etc. are encouraged to participate by collecting donations from friends, family, and colleagues and come to walk the one mile or two and a half mile route. 25% of the money collected goes to support hunger relief efforts in Las Vegas, so that we are better able to help people here and around the world.
